If you’d like to book a BEV for more than one working day, please follow our instructions below:
- Step 1: Select your required pick up date using the booking criteria above.
- Step 2: Follow the process to book your BEV of choice.
- Step 3: Once you have received your email confirmation, please reply to that email, outlining the dates you wish to book the vehicle for (a maximum of three nights.)

Or want to simply experience an electric car or e-bike without long term commitment?
As a VWFS employee, you can book a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or e-bike at a time that suits you. It’s a great opportunity for you to improve your knowledge of BEVs and e-bikes whilst also reducing your carbon footprint.
You can book out the BEVs for up to three nights, including weekends. This is a great opportunity to experience the benefits of electric driving firsthand.

What’s available?
As of September 2024, we have the following options available for hire:
BEVs: (both located at One Delaware Drive, 1DD)*
Volkswagen ID.5
ŠKODA Enyaq Coupe iV
3 x E-bikes:
SEB1 (located at Brunswick Court)
SEB2 (located at 1DD)
SEB3 (located at 1DD)
*Due to the power output of these vehicles, drivers must be over 21 years of age and have a minimum of two years driving experience, according to the VWFS ECO & Loan car policy.
Undergraduates and apprentices are also excluded to drive both vehicles.
How does it work?
All BEVs and e-bikes are free to book as a VWFS benefit to their employees. There are no tax implications to you using these vehicles – we cover any costs that may be incurred, so you are free to just experience the world of electric.
Using our online booking tool, simply choose your pick up location, select a collection date and find a vehicle that is available. Once you have selected your vehicle, fill in your details, agree to the terms and conditions and then have fun experiencing a BEV.
Am I eligible to book a BEV?

I’m not eligible for our ECO / Loan Car schemes… | No – unfortunately you are not eligible to book our BEVs, but you can book an e-bike. |
I’m under 21 / I’m an undergraduate / I have less than two years of driving experience… | No – unfortunately you are not eligible to book our BEVs, but you can book an e-bike. |
Licence checks for the BEVs
This information is for colleagues who are not already registered on our ECO / Loan Car schemes. Without completing this, you will not be eligible to book a car.
How do I complete a licence check?
- Generate a ‘check code’. You can do this by visiting the Gov.uk website – but please don’t redeem the code just yet.
- Email your code to us. You can send it to our HR team, including a scanned copy of your driving licence.
The team will notify you when you have been added to our list of authorised drivers and confirm that your insurance has been finalised.

You can book one of our on-site BEVs for a maximum of three nights.
Once you’ve received your booking confirmation, please collect the keys for the vehicle from Security (Ground Floor, 1DD).

Need to know: e-bikes
You can book an e-bike for a maximum of seven hours, Monday to Friday.
Please ensure you watch the VWFS Safety e-bike video prior to hiring an e-bike. If you are taking out an e-bike there is no need to worry about protective gear.
All e-bikes will be provided with a helmet, bike lock, bag for accessories and instructions on how to use them.
Our bikes are also maintained every six months with a full health check at Halfords.
